MODEL MAKING
My skills as a model maker have developed from specialising in stop-motion animation. I began to expand on my skills in minitature set building, sculpting, prop making and scenic art work. This lead to me progressing to film and sculpture work, where I developed skills in Vacuum, Pressure and Centrifrugal Casting with resins and metals, as well as mould making for the same materials.
See some examples of my model making work below.

I was part of the Film department at CMA Moldform who cast the crystal clear resin helmets for Sci-Fi film Prometheus. They required a specialist mould and optically clear resin to meet the high quality finish ready for the big screen.

When working at CMA Moldform I cast and finished these bags out of crystal clear resin with different elements set inside at different elevations.

As part of the Art department at CMA Moldform I cast and finished the leaves using a Vacuum casting machine to make sure there were no bubbles in the finished sculpture.

This was a set that I had to build and create the props for. I also animated a scene for the Crocodile Trap using this set.

This is the head of the character 'Cecil' from the Crocodile Trap. I sculpted him out of Super Sculpey and then baked until solid.

These hands were made from Super Sculpey and once baked were carved too look as though they were made of wood with a rotary tool.

It's the little things that make the difference. Studios enjoy putting their own mark on there animations even if you may not notice it straight away when you watch it.

Here I am dressing the set ready for shooting at Yamination Studios.

Here you can see the garden of the main character. The set was built at Birmingham based Animation studio 'Yamination Studios'
